Just being plain old LAZY

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz today my laziness has caused me more than half a day thanks to playing computer games till the sun rise yesterday or rather today!!!.
Will probably be watching "Bruce almighty" and heck even "Little Nemo" this weekend.
This sunday I'll be going to Paramount's King Island, an amusement park with the tallest and largest roller-coaster in the world. ALso known as the BEAST!!!
Hope I won't puke or throw up during (gulp) or after the ride!!
(So says the brochure that 1 out of 10 people did)
Will get the specification of the BEAST though.

Unexpected good advice

Wowww I was really shock today, You know that applying to do masters to various graduate school in various countries has been bugging me for quiete sometime now. With party A want me to hunt a uni in the states, party B in england ,party C in Oz(Australia) and party D to return back to the motherland (Malaysia),
(pictures himself being pulled in 4 different direction in a tide of war game.
UHhhhhghghhhhhhhh achhhhhhhhh ackkkkkk

then today someone younger than me and least I've expected said this to me:
ah ling ling said"my objective is my studies..to do well..
it doesnt matter whether i got accepted or not..
being accepted or not..its only for ppl with ego ...that wants to show off that they graduate form this so and so coutnry..
as long as we know we do well..its ok... we ourselves and ppl around us will know
right?
you dont have to worry abt being accepted by other Uni for graduate school coz you yourself know that you did well"

Thanks so much Jun, owe you one.

Nah I'll be better contended as a cow.

MooooOOOooooo

Ok a lame poem but it rhymes...Whuymm feel like eating some grass (not Pot more like Alfalfa)

Can't wait till T3 is released next week!

Mixed Reaction

OK today I got 2 news, one bad and one good that aren't directly related to me.

So will it be the good news or the bad news first?

Well bad news is that the apartment next door, lives 4 malaysians, 3 guys and a gal. The gal and one of the guy (living in the same room)are couples for close to a year already since Malaysia before they came to Kentucky. Then recently when I came back from Chicago I discovered that they broke up and the gal straight away has a new Bf? Guess who? Not me lahHhh aiyoooo thr previous BF bestfriend, the guy who lives in the next room in their apartment. Weird eh? and because of that they are booting out the ex-bf from the apartment.
Well there's probably more to it but SigHhh Sad things in life.

The good news is that another person whom I'm very close too is getting married to an American, Ta DA (Redding bells chims and song playing through my head). Well they haven't told their parents yet but hopefully they'll be Ok.

They have my blessings though, wondered why they even need me to ask for it? WeiRrdDd

The Wind City "Chicago"

Firstly to quote my friends on the trip to Chicago. Just some background info 3 drivers (3 grads) and 4 greens (first semester and first trip out of Kentucky). The whole trip was a sensual blast as my friend who has been to New York even said that Chicago is by far more beautiful than New York. I myself got to admit, it beats Atlanta, Orlando and Houston by a long shot. The only problem is that even during summer time, the wind chill is close to ZERO celsius!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , So you can imagine how bloody cold is it during winter time, and YEs it is EXTREMELY windy hence the Windy City.

OK quote by Cyril our mad/main driver "What the heck!!! Were lost again".. (blaming the navigator and reserve driver Jeffrey for telling the wrong direction to get to a place)
Jeffrey "That's It! BAsket!!..."....(blaming back Cyril because actually Cyril took the wrong road by himself) "Come let's go to *SEARS Tower*(Intending to fight it out with Cyril and throwing him off the second tallest building in the world after KL twin towers)
Cyril "I must contain the Beast" (brainwashing himself not to kill the occupants of the SUV (Yup 7 of us) while stuck in a traffic jam or traffic light. YUP Chicago's traffic jam is as bad if not worse than KL!!)

and these 3 lines has been repeated close to 7 time during the whole trip with the exception of the *SEARS Tower* changing to the Michigan Lake, Chicago River, Buckingham fountain and etc depending on the nearest tallest and wetest tourist attraction that are nearest to our position.

As for me being the secondary driver and secondary navigator,.. by the end of the trip I have said all those 3 lines depending on whether I'm the driver or the navigator at that time.

Yup Chicago GOOD FOODd ATE tons of authentic chinese food (non of those westernize chinese food) and the infamous Chicago pizzA!!! The pizza that looks like a PIE!. When to Sears towers, tons of musuem, navy pier and watched fireworks TWICE,birmingham fountain and etc. Great FUn!!

Also an added bonus , we seem to dig out everyone's secret crush and political story of friends and foe during the long trip back home. Of course I was the one with the most story.. but that is for another day!.

Back from The Wind City "Chicago"

Aloow just got back from Chicago, really freaking tired, drove 5 hours straight ..will write more tomorrow after I Zzzzzzzz
Below is a poem a friend of mine wrote in Oz (Australia). Somehow her signature style of writing poems closely resembles mine and
I admit that her poem deffinition of love is the same as mine.

Have Fun Zzzzzzzzz

Love

Love, what is it?
Is it something you can see?
Is it something you can smell or touch?
Or is it something you can only feel?

Love, how would you know if you are loved?
Is it when the world's eyes are on you?
Is it when someone says, "I love you"?
Or is it when someone is there for you when you need
him/her?

Love, how would you know when you are in love?
Is it when you see that person all the time?
Is it when you think of him/her all the time?
Or is it when you would do anything for him/her?

Love, what should you do when you are in love?
Should you call him/her all the time?
Should you see each other all the time?
Or should you just get married?

What is love? It may be a short word with only four
letters but it is something very powerful. It can
change a person's life, personality and it can also
change the whole world. And, when you have love or is
loved, treasure every moment before you lose it.
Regardless of whether it's parental love, friendship
love or any kind of love. Treasure it!

"This poem wasn't written by me it was written by a Dear friend in Melbourne, E-mail me to find out who if you're interested"

Last Fellowship of class 2003

Today is probably the last day for a long time I'll be hanging out with my usual IT grad comrades , the people in my gardphotos.
After this all of us will go on our own separate direction. One will go do masters in psychology in Long island, New York, ONe will go to Philladelphia to bump with his cousins for life? One will remain here at KEntucky and look for a job, he's says he won't go back to his home country if given a choice. One will go to Arizona to bump with his brother while applying for pharmacy schoo? Yes and were all IT graduate. ONe will also remain in Lexington Kentucky and reapply for admission to do masters (since all of us got rejected before, he figures next round would be different). As for me I'm still waiting for reply to the 5 southern universities I"m appling.
"Doko mo kaze iku, watashimo iku" .Where the wind blows, so I'll follow.

Well got to go soon, our last "makan" together for a very long time....or maybe the LAST FELLOWSHIP for all of us together. Since most of us are from different country, malaysia, indonesia, taiwan, hong kong and of course USA....it reminds me of a similiar sort of LAST FELLOWship for Brats 3 years back ago. That includes a "Tamil Tigre",penang guy and Da OuG gal . Nope I wasn't in it but I feel the significance of it now.

Tomorrow I'll be off to Chicago for a short weekend holiday.
The drive there from Kentucky is only 5-7 hours (depending how fast you drive and yes I'm a driver again, were renting a SUV for 7 person to go there). .The drive would be nothing compared to the 21 hours driving time to Houston, Texas during my spring break 2 months back ago.

I doubt I'll be blogging in the 2-3 days to come. So check back later for updates.

p/s I'm actually very disturb and more dissapointed than angry over a friend 2 nights ago in the internet. But to safe face I
won't write about it , for if I do it will be as long as my whole blog pAge

pp/s ThANK YOU guys and gals so much for my graduation card also.
luv all of you

Clarify

OK I think most of you have seen my graduation pic, now I got to clarify 3 things
1) The general comment is I look fatteR? Whummmmmmm I play basketball weekly, howcome? Whummmm maybe I did , Since I see myself everyday in
the mirror is sort of hard to tell ^_^. But I'll give you guys and gals the benefit of the doubt.

2)The gal holding my arm in one of the picture is not my gf. I'am still SINGLE. Why is she holding my arm? E-mail me and I'll explain it to you

3)The long white thingy with Latin alphabets I'm wearing is an honor stole. So honor students wore them. Unlike Oz system where you study a year extra to
get honor status. In US you got to earn it my grades.

wait AGhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I've override my previous blog NOooooooooOooooooooo

Today Title is No Title

Will try to keep it short, want to know a mindless violent game that is entertaining and have historical significance, try the PS2 game of the Romance of the 3 kingdoms V wait was it VI? oh well the latest one.

Second, it's bloody hard and confusing to apply to graduate school, the TONS of essay to write, I think I'm 1/3 done. Whummmm will try to settle at least the essay, recommendation letter and application before this weekend. Will do the rest later, why?
BecUASE I'm going to CHICAGO CHICAGO!!

wOooooohHhhooooooo

oh another issue, I really don't understand how people can be so SENSITIVE over the internet. Find I replied a message late because I was immense in authoring an essay. And before I can reply back the person calimed I was ignoring the person,

Know this people, I'm having broadband that means i'm 24/7 online but I'm not 24/7 at my computer. And if I 'am im always MULTI-TASKING which means I can be messaging, writing an e-mail, surfing the net, doing homework and maybe on the phone at the same time. Inefficient I know but it works for me. Feel Offended? Feel left-out? It's nothing personal, I've my own priorities like writing an essay due tomorrow would be more important than some other stuff, so naturally those other stuff will receive less of my attention, HENCE slower response time from me.

Want me to change? Deal with it! I'am who I'am.(GawD I'm starting to sound like Cherie) It's high time I should be a bit selfish in cyberspace. Believe me it's not fun being scolded for something which people can't understand.

Crash Boom Bang

Yayy YayYyyyy Err I think this is another delay entry..... been finishing off my Uni application to 5 southern states. After the Ice-tornado and the -20 celsius for more than a week, quoted from an old american in Kentucky "It haven't been this cold since World War 1". means it's time for me to move south away from the 15 feet of snow in new york and etc.

Why Crash Boom Bang?
Today my apt mates has this "FREAK" accident. In my apt of 6 people, 4 of them owns cars. So there's a garage that fit only one car. The other 3 got to line up in a straight line from the garage in a slope. Just happened today the 2nd car (1st car in the garage), didn't pull the handbrake all the way up, then sometimes today we heard 3 Crashes, at first we thought some stupid idiot caused a chain reaction, but then the crash came right outside the apt (just below us), the 2nd car crashed to the 3rd and the 3rd to the 4th.
Damage Assessment:
2nd car : 2 smashed lamp light and back booth compartment cannot close,
3rd car : one smashed headlight, Car bonet cannot close properly
4th car: (due to the effect of the slope that gets steeper at the end and the LAw of physics) one headlight was destroyed and somehow the metal plating got compressed to the back thereby causing the driver door to be jam and cannot be opened and the gas compartment cannot open also, we got to ply it open with a crowbar.

Spent the whole day at the car repair shop.
Almostt everyone face was "Mein orr orr" face black black.

The most damaged car cost $1500 USD to repair in contrast of the buying price of $5500.
Yes car in the US is really cheap but the cost to repair and service it is VERY EXPENSIVE like all other western countries!!

I shall refrain from cursing again. BUt aGHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh. It seems some brilliant people forgot to checvk their mailbox nor open the bills until

mATRIX 2

MATRIX 2 KICK A$$ :)P.
So what can I say it rocks!!!!! . Whummmmmmmmmmmmmm been discussing with afew "Ancient" seniors about the current fate of the Malaysian Kampung in Lexington Kentucky, it seems the rate of new students coming in is exponentially declining while the rate of students leaving is still constant.

WOooooooooooooooo can't wait for matrix REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!! mauhauhauahauhauah

whummmmmm something tells me I've delayed my blog Aghghhhhhhhhhh blamed it on MAtrix 2 !!!!!

OK now for the answe everyone has been waiting for from yesterday mystery question!
The answer is : "Elementary my dear Watson" , the frequency setting was different for everyone of the remote ANTennaes!! Well some might argue this is a software issue but NO. This is actually a "Manual" issue. as in Human manual. The common remote wireless antennae has usually one standard frequency, but we got to by the Cisco corporate version remote wireless version which has multiple channels.
Just happened that in the process of setting up the remote hardware the frequency aren't synchronized to each other (we assume the wireless frequency for all are standard). So TADAAaaaaaaaaaaAaaaaaaaaaaa.
Next quesion : Why didn't we think of it before? Most of us has had hands-on experience on setting up and etc on wirelesss hardware before.. hence the overconfident and overlook of the problem.
How did we came to discover it? We were talking about walkie-talkies' when we were too tired too figure it out (we were on the verge to call the toll free 1-800 line for customer support,,the HUMILILATION "MALUNYA" and were drinking root-beer (yes we prefer to stay sober while troubleshooting computer stuff) and watching friends.

So THe ENd

Conquered the Wireless

muAHAHAHA muAHAHAHAHAH MUHAUAHUAHUAHAUHA aS keANU rEAVES CONQUERED THE maTRIX, Daryan Today Conquered the Wireless broadband problem which has been plaguing apt 6 in gazette avenue, Lexington , Kentucky, USA for the past 3 dayS!!! mauhauahuahuaha hauhauhauahuahua HAHAHAHAa ^_^
Firstly: All they teach you in Uni's is theory theory theory and history. So setting up a wireless gateway that connects to a symetric DSL broadband connection where 5 other PC in the apartment with mini antennaes the size of my pinky finger can enjoy the pleasures of broadband connection without looping feets and feets ,,corections metres and metres of Cat5 cables across the hall, into the bath room, behind the store room, across the lamplight, under the bed and etc and etc ( don't forget about the Router and Switch modems too)
So now NO wire, just that we all hope that we won't die of cancer by the end of summer !!! If we can see all the signals and waves from these powerful wireless devices (for you techies up there it's IEEE 802.B , "THats the technology code and standard protocols for these specific wireless technology."). We would be like swimming in mud!!.

Second: The diagnosis: Why did the wireless connection didn't work in our self setup homebuild gateway/wireless LAN?
a) Nope it wasn't the encryption key (a specific key so only WE people in the apt can tap to the wireless system and enjoy the speed and internet connection and not some junky with a laptop and a wireless card outside the apt). At first we thought one of the 5 comps screwed up, but it was all identical, then we thought the ASCII mask was wrong...whumm I think im going too technical anyway...it wasn't that
b)Nope it wasn't IP or the name of the designated PC (Our PC are named according to shakespeare characters, mine is Salford, and then there's milkweed, and etc)
c)Yes everyone has identical hardware, drivers, softwares and settings
d)No there was only one server and the rest are clients, anything that differs from this and the wireless network would be in chaos.
The funny thing is the wireless network showed symptoms of having characteristics of this problem (which we tried to figure how to work/fix it for 2 days
e) Everyone was more focus on moving and getting the balloon down from the roof and the constant disconnection of power codes and cables that shut downs a pc every 5 minutes is a were deterrent when you're trying to troubleshoot anything!!! Not just troubleshooting problems of this nature. I mean ANYTHING
ANSwer: so the answer Was .... Hahahahahaahah stay Tuned for tomorrows blog!! (Yes I know you all techies are falling off your chairs now >_< )

I got to go watch matrix reloaded mauhauhauahuaha

ciao

POST GRADUATION

Let's see, my store room back home looks FAR NEATER than the hall of my apt now.
There isn't practically anywhere to move except this small thin narrow path that even the skinniest person in the apt have problems getting through.
This week ,the week after final exam week (and the week before final week was Dead week) is now officially called MOVING WEEK!!!!
For the past 3 days I have helped moved 6 people from apt to houses and etc (including myself), drove a pickup truck from a convoy of 3 pickup trucksss ohh myyy, seen almost 2 TV's (24 inch++) almost been dropped from the 3rd floor (Quote from Andrew "It's too heavy I'm letting GO I'm letting GO!!") and watch 6 freshly graduate trying to bring down a graduation baloon from the rooftop. (It took 6 freshly graduate engineers and another 3 freshly grad engineer on the cell phone giving advice closed to an hour).
They made a makeshift pole tied with gals hairbands and made from a long cilinder bulb with a needle attached to a gruesome mix of chewing gum and celephone tape (Crapp should have took a photo)
After 60 mins still no go.. then we remembered the ladder...aHhh LADDERRRRR
It seems the ladder was behind the throngs of refrigerators and forgotten at the dark corner of the APT.
TADAAAAaaaa what could have been solved by a high school kid alone in less than 5 mins , took a total of 8 University of Kentucky fresh graduates (2 on the phone) to bring down a Balloon ironically written with the words "Congratulations Graduates". Quality education indeed . ^_^

Well next , the internet is still down (I'm typing from the apt next door).
Why settle for Direct DSL/Cable(Broadband) connected for cables when we can have wireless?? Yup each PC have a mini antennaes connected to the USB port to receive wireless connection, UNfortunately there's something wrong..ughghg
back to work.
MAster applications has been put temperary on hold, for now till the weekend, AGhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

(Yes im screaming and pulling my long beautifully damaged hair)
Yessss life of a graduate.
|

Tuesday, May 13, 2003

agHHHHHHHHHH THE PLACE IS STILL A MESS
Imagine 6 people with all their junk moving in and out at the same time. All the baggages and furnitur in and out, the APT looks like a PAWN shop AGHhhhhhhhhhhh

Spent the whole night and probably tonight trying to set up the Wireless DSL in the apt.
Weirdddddddd it was out of the frying pen and into the fire!!.

From one pc with internet out of 5 to one pc with only messenger working and IE dead.. AGhhhhhhhhhghgh

quesitons: How many engineers does it take to pop a balloon that got stuck in the ceiling 3 times th e height of the tallest person.

answer: Wait for the next blogg!! (Yes it happened last night)
|

Monday, May 12, 2003

Ok ok ok ok
spend a whole day packing to move to my friends apt, YES IM HERE NOW.
You have no idea the amount of "Junk" one can accumulate throughout the years!!!!!!!!!
aGhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I was lucky it only took 2 big car loads the size of a Wajar to move.
My HK friend needed 5 cars load
We were thinking of getting a truck the next time to move..
wAtched X-men 2 it rocks, PArty with buddies malaysians, Chruch people and later on today with the international student council,,,,,, AGHHHGh too many graduation partyyyy....

A poem.
short one:

Graduation's on a mountaintop.
Rarely does one get a better view.
All that is in front of me is new.
Dreams fade into haze rather than stop.
Underneath are queasiness and fear
As familiar landscapes fall away.
The price of moving on is just that gray
Intensity that grips as new eyes near.
On me for just this moment all is grace:
Now I rest, and that sweet joy embrace.
In God I trust and fate to thee,
The future we shall see.

This is my second time typing this , I shall refrain from saying any foul words, but if I have it my way i'll write a text book full of it that will make the oxford dictionary so insignificant the professors who wrote them will cry.

3 phrase
1) 2 keys tavern ( a pub disco) danced, got slightly intoxicated. Still feeling as shit as before
2) I'm stuck in this mood of perceiving myself as the world's no.1 biggest loser.
3)It's 1.30 am and I have my last and hardest final exam this semester at 7.00 am. What do you think?

A flashing moment

There always comes a time where one or rather I take some time to reflect on my life. All the events that happened, both to my liking and disfavor. At this point I try not to regret, for if those events had not happened. I wouldn't be the person I'am today. Regrets of what could have been? maybe. Would I chose the same path ? Probably. The past is over the future beckons.

Lies and Truth? debated with someone online today about that. Hard it may be, maybe I'm born in the wrong time?.
Aghgh back to studies, no time to lament about philosophy and the nought.

(notices gwen staring at something I'm holding.. a see through box with multi-colored paperclips)
(swings it left to right) (her eyes follows the swinging box in exact unison)
"You like it?" (Gwen nodes her head)
(Toss it to her)
*Jiggle jiggle* . (A synergy of color swirls from the box as colorful paper clips mismatch, rotate and fall on top of each other)
(Gwen started to smile)

*I remembered Gwen told me once before (back when she still gets lost on campus) that when she is feeling down , all she got to do is look at colorful stuff and she'll be OK again*
"Too bad I'm not like you"
"HUH?" (replied gwen still mesmerized by the colorful box)
"Nevermind"

Back to the books for me , leaving a near but smiling Gwen looking at the colorful box in the background, at least someone is smilling.

whumm I wonder how ball-room dancing will be like?

Soft Sounds of War

There was nothing except the eerily loud banging of Silence in the middle of the night.
Occasionally this silent would be broken by the flipping of the text books and the sharpenning of a pencil.
Just sometimes, just sometimes.... we can hear the dismay of the freshman sighing and groaning about their fate to be.
The hour of battle approaches with the coming of dawn, yet no one is sleeping, and no one will claim that they are ready no matter how many hours of itense preparation and training they had.

I myself a supposedly veteran ,cast a starely looked at my comrades in books, thinking of; how many of them will make it?, how many of them won't? see the light of graduation.
This is my final battle in my undergrad campaign, as decorated as I maybe, as many times I've proven myself in combat with courage and valor.
I'm still weary of the outcome to be, the split seconds decision, the pen not having ink or the liquid paper without liquid.
(checks his weapons).. "Ahhh looks ok to me".. "ShhH.. you'll give away our concentration"" (says my fox-hole mate "room-mate")

I'm weary, not because of the coming battle, but the road after that. Leaving so many "green" people behind to fight another war? to fight in another long campaign, to fight for a masters? . ahh They'll do just find, new officers has already been delegated to take charge in my absents.

Ahh daylight approaches, I hear the sounding of the march.
Time to go to WAR.

Calm before the Storm

Ok I think (I think but may not be) , I'm half way done studying, still got sunday till the STORM begin (Starts playing Darude's Calm before the storm track). Slept for erMm 14 hours!! since last night, my explanation? Paying back my debt of lack of sleep for the past week which avarages 3-4 hours per weekday only. Great Huh!! Know what? I still feel sleepyyy ZzzZzzzzzzzzzzzz (and I still look like a member of the undead family)

observation : I said it once I've said it before. IT IS Bloody cheap to buy a car in US. with just USD5000 (RM 20,000) you can buy the latest or near latest Japanese car model that would be around RM 200,000 back in Malaysia. (2 of my friends just bought 2 cars).
WhuMmM everybody seems to be getting a car now of days.. For a mere USD1000, you can also buy A Honda Civic second hand. and Second Hand in US means almost perfect.

AghGhhh back to studiesss..

oh caution: Basketball is not a safe sport, 2 of my basketball kaki (Asians) are now on clutches and may not play their favourite sport for the whole duration of summer .Why? They torn their Archilles tendon,,ouchhhhh. WOrd of AdVIcE: It's all physics, White guys and Colored Guys are bigger stronger and faster in the court (well sometimes, I've seen Asian dunk too ^_^ )

ONe more WeEk

YEs YES one more week till the END OF SEMESTER.
I Have just entered the FINAL EXAM WEEK ZONE (Drum roll). NEed to do lots and lots of last minute studying (atypical).
I've really rEAlly wanted to study more last night. Got done with one subject but felt bored while Reading E-commerce,(There's actually more to internet than programming? WoW)

so my mantra is "STudy Study Study Study". Everytime I see anybody I know on campus or online (who are on campus). I"ll tell them "Go Study or go To sleep!!" (Why sleep, remember DEAD week, people = Zombie/Vampires) . Yes WE all need sleep. I'm starting to look like a draconian too.
Ironic thing, I need to study and get sleep too!!

pp/s I'm getting bombarded by 2 groups of people asking me to further my studies in either Oz (Australia) or the Empire (England). Maybe I should set up a debate for the two groups to voice out their conviction.

ZzzzzzzzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz yes I need Sleep.
I've think I've finally pass the headache of filtering close to a 100 Universities to around 5-7 probable Universities that
I) ARE AFFORDABLE, no Private U's where the tuition fees per semester may cover up my total Master's degree total tuition fees in another U
II) Not some small little town in the middle of nowhere (I've been living in a small town for too long, time to experience bigger cities)
III) I'm qualified, Yes, sometimes as the tuition fees goes up the qualification for entrance goes down and vice-versa.

whumm I'm still skeptical about some of the choices I've made, but so what.
As long al lthe choices are made are INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED (AACSB).
Who cares?, UGhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sleepy , need to watch
HITMAN (some stupid Korean flah that screws up Superman to be this Hentai (sex maniac) guy.

WhuMmMmmm maybe I should leave you guys the link :)P.. oh well Have fun http://www.opane.com/himman.html (Warning 16 SX)
